i thought this was a very good game. ive gone out of reviewing, as it takes time and i havent seen anything i really felt like reviewing...
however, i thought vorago was very good.
GOOD POINTS:
:- i liked the emotional journeys of the characters and how they were authentic to what you would expect of a character and werent false. i believe your inspiration from other places contributed to this, and i think that it was very important in the story.
:- the story was very good over all and keeps people interested. as seen below, many people did continue on because of the story.
:- you kept a keen eye on the graphics and movement and although "click and move" puzzle solving games can be very frustrating, besides the small items, i found this one relatively easy to control.
SCORE: 4/5
ok, i very nearly gave this the 5/5. hence, the 9/10 score overall.
1) the smooth speech and good graphics got it an initial point.
2) the great storyline had to give it the second point.
3) and the third point for the good merging of the above 2. they would both be useless if you didnt bind them together properly.
4) it was interesting and quite original. i dont think ive ever played a game that refers to the bible's texts and i got through to the end of the game!
IMPROVEMENTS:
this is quite hard, but i will give it a go...
:- a longer game would have been nice. it was very enjoyable, more of it is one of the only improvements.
:- the minigames were slightly frustrating. perhaps making them a lot less "minigame" and a lot more "something you have to do" would be a lot better. so including bits where you walk between rooms, adding corners to the axe hacking minigame, anything to make it slightly more realistic would make it a tad more interesting.
:- i am not going to go into detail here. yes, the items were quite small and hard to find in some ways and i did have to use a walkthrough at some points. people have said it, so im not going to rub that one in.
OVERALL POINTS:
i think this is a very good game. i really like something that has a bit of depth, and i felt this had it. I felt you did a great job of realising the creative idea, and i think you highly deserve a 9/10, if not a 10/10.
oh, and by the way, i played trapped, pursuit and escape and i thought they were very good too.

hello again jindo! long time no speak! i figured in my oh so boring holidays id take a trip back to newgrounds and see what you had come up with in my absence! if you remember me that is :P
right... this game is definitely one of yours. its original, which i see is always something you try to look for. i like this game quite alot, as even if you do choose one of the platformer strategy ones, you have found a method of making it different from the alternatives available and just as importantly, it works! it doesnt matter if you have a fabulous concept if it is all buggy and horrible. the name is enough to show the originality.
GOOD POINTS: 4/5
mark 1: this is for what i mentioned... creativity and efficiency of the game rolled into one, giving the basis for a successful game. i wont regurgitate what i said earlier :P
mark 2: this is for a tutorial. it has a massive highlighter on my mark scheme in the extra section written in bold. tutorials show dedication and great work. it also shows you are concerned for the people playing the game. as such, it always presents a mark!
mark 3: this is for several things all rolled into one... the original name (ogotu... LOL!) is one of them. just like you to choose something on them lines! the second, is the music. the music is great and fits the game. good research there! finally ive put play value as the last criteria for this mark as there are 100 levels. great work!
mark 4: i gave the final mark for an overall decent game. i just looked and played the game and knew this was a bit more than a 3. it may not be up to the usual 4 criteria, but it certaintly ticks all the boxes. well done!
IMPROVEMENTS:
1) THE GRAPHICS some people have said could do some work on. this is mere mentioning, tacky graphics have their place or graphics that arent advanced. the only part i will note on graphics is i found it very tacky and annoying with the little blocks that came off whenever you clicked anything!!! i just found it a little annoying :P the only thing i find tacky about the graphics is when there are shapes flying around the screen. only then does it look particularly tacky.
2) GAME FIXES are needed. im not sure and it could just be that im being rushed like hell to get off and eats something today rather than oreos, but when i started the level i found i couldnt complete it but i couldnt fall off the edge. this lead me to a stalemate where i couldnt do anything... but, i may have been rash and not found it. if there isnt a restart button i would put one in as i had to close it afterwards! lol.
3) A LEVEL EDITOR is the only addition to the game i can think of. where you can produce your own level and try it. this is the only addition i can think of that would go and still be within reason. as i have only found 3 improvements, this is definitely a good game... quite alot like the ones ive reviewed in the past. well done again jindo! another great game!

as for most, i am quite the sucker for strategy games and especially a successful one. this one is very good, i like it. i hate it when people post "strategy games" that involve simple decision making like "will i eat an ice cream today?" but this definitely deserves its title as a strategy game.
i found it very amusing, and although it is a beta it is a very good game.
SCORE: 4/5
1) the actual gameplay is really good, very well put together. it is smooth, and by not overcomplicating the graphics it actually i believe makes it a better game. it is quick, efficient and fun
2) something i always look for in a game is a tutorial. a tutorial shows dedication to the work, by adding in something that most see as unnecessary. tutorials are extremely useful and also, how you made it so you can customise your own game with difficulty, stars and even game speed. this suffices all people who wish to play, making it a good game
3) as i mentioned at the beginning, that it deserves its title of strategy! there is indeed strategy involved in this game, with the different types of stars (balancing them out) and also where to attack from. all of these make the outcome of the game alot less predictable and more deserving of the title "strategy game"
4) i gave another mark because it is just one of the best "betas" ive seen. it is quite well on. it is rather pointless putting in a game that is 10% finished, as it will be nothing like the finished product and no one wants to really play a 10% finished game. this game is well into development and is really good.
IMPROVEMENTS/ADDITIONS:
1) A STORYLINE would be great in this game... such as designated missions where you had to take down a specific player, and as you progressed through this storyline you unlocked new types of stars. if you added any new star types or any other additions, it would be good to have them as an unlockable in a story or mission mode. its like a wedding without a cake... it can be done, but everyone loves a cake at a wedding :P
2) A BIGGER AREA to mess around with would add to the strategy value. adding more stuff in to make it a bit more strategic. for example, you could have black holes from which any ships that go over will be destroyed, meaning you must navigate round them. obviously you cant do too much without adding a minimap for navigation or something along them lines. its an idea atleast :P
3) PAUSING is more a personal preference but i feel the ability to pause so you can organise your fleet would be nice. you could pause the game and sort out your stars. it would make it a little less hectic. but thats personal preference ;)
4) ADD IN everything that you want to add in such as music, etc. if you make it so that everything you need to add in is done, then this is a top notch game!
this game is well on to being a fantastic game in its beta stages. it is really good and deserves the title strategy, while maintaining a simple basis which makes it pure bliss... all this needs is expansion (a storyline, missions, challenges, anything along them lines) and the finishing touches and i could see it being a flash game classic. brilliant work!

not extremely original, and not cutting edge, but not something i have seen an exact copy of before. a pretty nice game, excusing the laag now and then.
i gave this a 3/5:
MARK 1: there were no technical flaws i experienced when playing the game
MARK 2: the game was a good idea with the 10 second thing and is much better than the ones where you just keep going until u get all the dots.
MARK 3: the music was good. some people just choose rubbish music for their submissions and considering you have to listen to it all the time, it can wreck a game
IMPROVEMENTS:
you have (admittedly) done very well for bieng twelve, but here are some improvements.
a pause button would be helpful. i was strapped to the game because i couldnt get off or pause to talk to anyone on msn. so i think a pause button would help. next, when you press M i think it should say "are you sure you want to go to the menu?" because i nearly accidentally pressed it and i can imagine bieng on the last level and doing that accidentally.
laag was another problem. i dont know why i experienced laag... i shouldnt really. i guess this must just be me. ;)
i think either in replacement of or to add yopu should have several tutorial levels showing all the different bad and good objects.
next, it would be good if you could number the levels so you can keep a track of where you are.
well, i think that is just about it... im pretty sure lol

this game is good, with a very good concept and i can see it bieng very fun. although, i think some things need to be changed.
ive gave this game a 3/5, because
MARK 1: a good original concept that is fun and different
MARK 2: no flaws in the game (technical flaws) and does work smoothly without any lag
MARK 3: i think the graphics are funny and amusing and not too tacky
IMPROVEMENTS
first of all, most of the previous reviewers are right... the game can get very difficult as most of the ghosts almost seem to run away from pacman until he has the ability to eat them. you shud add a difficulty setting in which when on easy the ghosts are almost like other players and target pacman. and if you do do this, make the current mode HARD because it is and is impossible with only 1 ghost left.
secondly, add a bit more variety to the levels. i may be wrong, later in the game there may be different levels but the game was a bit too difficult so i didnt get to see them.
another thing is a quality control in the game. my computer still lagged in bits now and then (and my computer isnt no old bucket ;) ) there may be one,but i didnt see it.
the game is fine, but do some things to make it more interesting and easier, then it will be a good game very worth playing

this game was a very good game, and although i have seen detective games this one is my favorite. just about everything was explained and the details were fine and there were few flaws in the story (if any). you can tell you have worked on this for months!
im giving this a 5/5 for my personal rating...
MARK 1: a thorough story without flaws or mistakes
MARK 2: a mystery investigation that compromised of good clues, good leads, interesting characters and it isnt all done for you.
MARK 3: a tutorial/help page. this may sem silly, but i hate it when games dont have them. and also they help everyone and show dedication.
MARK 4: decent graphics (that arent too shabby) and using the good idea of using sound effects of that person instead of spoken speech. i like that ;)
MARK 5: I couldnt guess the storyline (i had most of it, but not completely pieced together) by the end until grimoire peiced it together. u worked hard on the storyline and it shows by how in depth and thorough it is.
IMPROVEMENTS:
ah... wel... ermm... this is going to be the most empty section i think lol
even though i understood it all, a walkthrough tutorial (where it shows you everything) would be easier, but that is really just me bieng picky.
i didnt see a quality changer. if there is one, if you could see it easier the game wudda been faster, which was my only real problem.
other than that just expand and MAKE A SEQUEL
great game :D

this is a game with a good concept, and atleast some thought has gone into it. i have never seen throwing a ball with swinging into a target on NG :P very original
i gave this submission a 3/5. i soo nearly gave t a 4/5! (so u can call it a 3.5/5)
mark 1: a great original concept twisted from a previously made game! very original
mark 2: the game is addicting and fun also, music!!! 10 10 10 10 10!!

mark 3: the appliance of technique to the game, and the swinging of the ball actually works. also, everything is calibrated correctly to make every level possible, yet tricky!
IMPROVEMENTS:
ok...
1) i think that instead of a box where you swing your ball, a circle would be more useful. when i swung the ball, i got caught at the straight sides of the square. if it was circle, it would be alot easier to swing.
2) a more interesting background would be good. or even putting the levels in sections each with different backgrounds and music. (cos dimrain47 is fantastic, but a range of music would be nice :) )
3) i think the challenge levels and standard levels should be separated and have different selection icons on the menu. i think challenge is easy once you complete the levels so you should separate them and let them be played separately.
4) i think a tutorial would help on this game, and a few practice of technique levels, as this game is good but tricky to handle at the start.
5) the levels in the centre were better. these were the ones that required a bit of thought and a bit of technique. for these kinds of games, this is an ideal combination. try make levels that require thought and technique (like the middle ones)!
trust me, even though i can come up with improvements, your game is great. i am just pedantic :P
a fantastic game and since it is an original, i can see it going far. great concept, even better game play and even better music!

a good game i admit, with a lot of work clearly put into it. it is a good RPG overall, and a good storyline.
MARKS
i gave this a 4/5:
MARK 1: a good storyline and most of the basics covered.
MARK 2: a large range of weapons and clothing (some i see have 3 or 4 different clothes :S atleast this had range :D)
MARK 3: the game is not completable immediately, and fitting music.
MARK 4: a good levelling and item system that works. also, several exponentially increasing enemies.
IMPROVEMENTS:
1. i believe if you either recieved a map at the start of the game, or there was a minimap on the screen it would help the game be easier to understand.
2. when you teleport using the scroll,it seems anticlimactic at how you just zoom away. if you took a bit more time in teleporting, or there was a sound effect it would be more climactic
3. it is slightly annoying that you always end up in the centre of the town when u enter. if you entered where you just came from (from elwer woods, you arrive next to elwer woods gates) it would be better
4. if there were doors to al the places, or access to them without having to speak to anyone then it would be alot easier to roam. you could have a message you can only come past if you have started *******(quest name).
5. sometimes when i open an item screen, it wont let me close it.i have to go out of the town to get rid of it. also, the item just comes up. if there was a sound effect or a movement it would be more interesting.
6. you have a weak mana pot at 10gold and a strong one at 25gold. if a strong one only does double the effect of the first one, you save money buying weaker pots. i think tht needs to be changed.
7. i think the stuff like potions are too cheap. if you make them more expensive, people will not buy hordes of potions and be completely dependant on them. you can give a player some to start off with.
8. i think you should have more townspeople you can talk to. it seems awfully lonely. having some more items would be better as well.
9. i think the levelling up is very good, but i think a breif explanation of what vitality, intelligence etc do would help some people (not everyone is a crazy gamer!). also, more spells would be fab. and more types of strikes.
10. i think that if you moved the weapons/helmet/clothes/sheild links onto an inventory page. i think you could split it into armor, items and quest items. armor bieng the 4 written above, items as all the standard items and quest items, items related to quests (the trinket, the shield, the head etc).
11. i think the magic system is very fiddly. i have to press q all the time because when i pick an item up or even go into the menu it uses up mana. i think that it shouldn't fire the spell unless you dont click menu or something.
12. when you go into the inn, i think that you should have a little animation of the hero going to sleep or as most do, the screen slowly blackening. it seems unrealistic how they r suddenyl healed.
13. once you reach level 24, you can get everything on the upgrades (only guessing here) but i think there should be more spells and melee tactics. and rather than all offensive spells, some defensive ones like "heal" or "shield" or summut. if you have all offensive, the next one just replaces the last and you only use 1 spell all the time. effectively, some defensive spells would be good.
14. if you could (in the inventory) go over an itema nd see a small bit of information about it, that wud help. when i got my first dark crystal; thing i thought "wth is this?? lol " it would just help ppl understand.
15. overall, expansion would be good. for example, the mages study thing could have ways of training mage skills. you could make a warrior guild too. more enemies, more items, more equipables, more spells melee and quests.
i am only giving you FRIENDLY ADIVCE, constructive critisism. in no way am i critisising you game with the long list of advice :P (i had more but didnt have room LOL)
overall, i can see this game has gone far but as you see, still a long way to go. great

a nice game. the graphics are good and the game doesnt seem to have any bugs in it. it runs smoothly, it is a relatively good game!
MARK SCHEME
i gave this...a very close... 4/5. here is why
mark 1: good graphics. looks good
mark 2: a decent concept opened up with new weapons and different arenas.
mark 3: the game is addicting and fun (even though after a while it does get boring)
mark 4: the sequencing of the links in the game is good and you must have (by clear observation of various elements of the game) worked hard on this.
IMPROVEMENTS
ok... as you stated a 2 player would be a good idea.
i had no clue of what to do when i went in. instructions? or even better a tutorial? also... if you do incorporate 2 players in a game like this 2 player co-op (co-operation... working together) would be fun too. it would help if there was some way of finding out which weapon was assigned where during the game. i keep forgetting and spend quite a while finding out again :P finally... variation in enemies would be good. keep the game alive. maybe the odd twist and turn? the odd suprise? keep us on our toes?

What I am hearing from your review is more information and more replay value. I am currently making the new one and I will certainly implement your ideas. As for the score I think it would be worth more with the 2 things you mention. Watch this space. Anyone for a 4 player game :-)

it seems to be a very good game. the graphics seem very professional. the music suits too. you havent just thrown any old junk into this game.
FAVORITE BITS
thank god! someone included a tutorial! people cannot play even a top game without instructiond. you dont know how relieving it is to finally see someone put in a tutorial :P
the powerups make sense and they represent what they are. a picture representing gravity and an arrow up representing an increase. some fools just make a red circle and expect us to memorise what it is. you have really worked hard here!
i love the graphics and the timing. this is what almost seems a professional game.
i had to give this a 5/5!! here is why...
mark 1: excellent graphics! they were brilliant
mark 2: good sequence with timing links and instructions! and brilliant music. doesnt get annoying, but if it does u can turn it off
fantastic!
mark 3: an awsm game turned into your own. a brilliant concept with lots of nice twists
mark 4: options! tutorial! high score! gallery! these things make a game look professional. they show how much effort you have put in. well done!
mark 5: through all of your work on this, i can see you ahve put a heap of work into this. you have worked really hard. put in determination. filled the gaps. that is why i give you 5/5 for this!
IMPROVEMENTS
only 1 thing that i could POSSIBLY pick at with this game...
sometimes i forgot which controls were which, even when i switched them. maybe for the music and other non game related buttons a little message in the corner telling you which u chose, that would i guess be helpful!
